“This fanciful concert, falling somewhere between the cracks of jazz and classical music, is the first full-length  performance of a unique trio, formed a couple of years ago. I’ve wanted to call such an ensemble. The Cygnet Committee for a number of years, and now, of course, it also serves as a sort of tribute to the great David Bowie (imaginatively, if not musically)! The ensemble includes my friend– a most original voice on the classical guitar… wonderful performer, composer, improviser Brian Katz… and bassist extraordinaire, producer of my second album “Whose Shadow?“, George Koller… Along with creative arrangements of jazz standards, we will be performing unique interpretations of music by Henry Purcell, Maurice Ravel’s Greek and Hebrew melodies, music from de Falla’s Siete Canciones Espanolas, wordless songs by Ralph Towner… I will be singing in English, French, Yiddish and Spanish!”
